Indiana on Ice

Or maybe it should be ice on Indiana?

So far we've still got power! Many, many folks aren't so lucky. We got about 5 or 6 inches of snow yesterday, then freezing rain overnight and then about 3 more inches of snow again this morning. When we opened the back door this morning it sounded like a gigantic bowl of Rice Krispies as the ice was snapping branches from the trees in the field behind the house. We have very few trees on our lot but we did lose a couple of small branches in a pine tree and the little oak tree is doing a side bend but still standing.

My exercise the past two days has consisted of shoveling the snow from the driveway and sidewalk, twice. Warning though, if you come see me there's still about 1/2" of ice that I wasn't able to break up. Nature's beauty though brutal for some, created some interesting design work on my shrubbery.

The winter storm has delayed the delivery of the new appliances. Hopefully they'll be able to get here by the end of the week. Stay tuned:)

It looks like it does here. We still have electricity but many do not. This was one heck of a storm!

I'm so happy that you still have your electric! We have about a foot of snow but no ice. We have been thinking of everyone south of us. It sounds awful with the ice. Be safe.

Isn't it beautiful? It's sad it does so much destruction, but boy, is it ever pretty!
